To Live & Die In Chiraq
Some kids jump off the porch into the street life of Chicago aka Chiraq and some of them are pushed off the porch.
Tureon "Tutu" Young only wanted to play his Xbox, hang with his big brother and write raps, but the streets had a different idea for him. At a young age what Tutu has witnessed hardens his heart long before he becomes a man.
As a self-proclaimed savage, riding for his block and his gang become his priority. Along the way he will lose more than he could have ever guessed, but it's like that sometimes as he learns about life and death in the Chi.
I Miss
My Projects
Monroe "Roe" Pearson was born and raised in the Martin Luther King Homes housing projects on Chicago's South side.
At a young age he was already a boss and part owner of a large street operation, netting unheard of amounts of cash daily. In the "jets", every day becomes a struggle to remain at the top of the pile. The pursuit of money, fast cars, and willing women lands Roe in the federal penitentiary at an early age. During his prison time, the projects Roe knew and loved so well are demolished down to the last row house. Years later Roe is released, and now he has to deal with the reality of the only place he's ever lived being gone.
Soon enough he realizes not just the buildings are missing, but so are the people and their way of life.

Ain't
No
Love
Living in Chicago, a city affectionately known as Chiraq, sometimes you have to become heartless to survive.
In Y. Blak Moore's latest young adult novel, we meet Pat and her four children. She has taught them, "ain't no love in these streets", for as long as they can remember. As her children grow, she watches them become street poisoned, as they transform into a scammer, shooters and someone that'll do anything for money.
Her children's future is undecided, as Pat tries to keep them from caring too much, in a place that doesn't care at all.

Read. Write. Think. Creatively!
As an author of urban literature for over 20 years with ten (10) published novels, myself, Y. Blak Moore will attempt to give you a better understanding of creative writing and its practical applications. Having written 100s of performance poems as a Spoken Word artist, and visited many a city in our illustrious country as a paid artist to perform his works. He is amazed that here it is, a poor boy from the projects of Chicago, has been paid to sleep in four-star hotels because of his skills in Creative Writing.
Let’s be clear, if you’re reading this, you already know how to write; but now with the help of this workbook and your instructors, we’re going to attempt to teach you how to write creatively.
